KARUNA ENTERPRISES is a sister company of Karuna Society , established in October 2008, to undertake commercial activities for generating the much needed funds for supporting Karuna Society’s activities.

Through its shop, Karuna Enterprises mainly sells organic products that have been produced on its farm with the use of by-products from cattle rescued by Karuna Society and also through the labour and transport provided by them. Dairy products are got from the milk-giving cattle. In this way, the cattle help sustain themselves.

The love and care bestowed on the cattle and the garden ensure the high subtle quality of the Karuna products.

The shop also sells organic grains, cold pressed oils, pulses, etc which are purchased from reliable producers of organic natural products in the neighbouring town of CK Palli and elsewhere in India.

Karuna Enterprises and shop were set up not only to generate funds to meet the medical/food expenses for the animals but also to provide healthy organic food to the local community. Jobs are also generated for the local residents who work on the dairy and organic farm .

Due to its central location, the shop also serves as an information center to visiting devotees/tourists who would like to know more about the Karuna projects, before offering their support.

The Shop

Karuna Organic Shop is located just off the main road in Puttaparthi. While coming from the ashram, turn right after Sai Towers. It is the street just before the Gopuram/taxi gate of the ashram, the last shop on the left (Sai Sri Arcade – Shop No. 7 – Next to N. Ahmed Tours and Travels).

Every morning we have fresh, organic vegetables and dairy products from our farm for sale

We sell the following products:

• Fresh juice from organic wheat grass grown on our farm. Many patients benefit from it
• Varieties of lettuce (salads), cucumber, tomatoes, pumpkins, beetroots, carrots, herbs like chicory, basil, mint, green coriander, arrouqula, etc., mangoes (in season), etc.;
• Organic dairy products like homemade yogurt, buttermilk, sour cream, and cheese made from raw milk of rescued cattle (after the calf has been fed). The cheese is made from enzymes and vegetable rennet. No milk giving animal is medicated and none of them go for slaughter;
• Colloidal silver, Himalayan salt and Effective micro organism (EM) for cleaning and bacteria replacement;
• Fresh and dry Spirulina from our production unit;
• Grains (Brown rice, variety of millets), peanuts and pulses/dals;
• Cold pressed oils

Profits from all products that are sold in the shop are directly used to help cattle and other animals under the care of Karuna Society. This includes the medical treatment of sick, injured and old cattle and animals, sterilization and rabies vaccination of stray dogs, and the maintenance of rescued wildlife.

Upon request, we are also able to cater to orders from abroad for dry Spirulina, which is sent by post.

Karuna Enterprises is committed to the protection of the environment. Hence, no plastic bags are used in the shop. The irreversible damage to the environment caused by disposable plastic products and the hazards the animals are subjected to, mostly fatal, when they consume plastic bags or get entangled in them, are widely known. Our customers are provided with bags made from old newspapers, which if returned in good condition, are reused. Through the use of these paper bags, Karuna supports a project that encourages villagers, mostly women, to generate income for themselves by producing them and at the same time to help save the environment.
