Karuna Society is opposed to all milk and milk products obtained from buffaloes and cows which are maintained only for milk production in dairy farms. Cows, bulls and buffaloes are originally meant for agriculture. Milk is for the calf, which will later turn out to be a strong working animal.

Upgraded milk animals suffer tremendously during their life due to miscarriages, medical problems caused by faulty artificial insemination, diseases like mastitis (inflammation of the udder), milk fever, cruel mismanagement and starvation. Calves are taken away from their mother as the farm takes all the milk. Male calves are left to fend for themselves, starved to death, turned into veal or used for animal sacrifice. All cows, calves, bulls and buffaloes end up in the slaughterhouse although cow slaughter and animal sacrifice is illegal in India.

Dairy farm milk, which also includes most village animals, is mostly adulterated with water or chemicals and polluted with residues of medicines, antibiotics and hormones. All milk so obtained has to be pasteurized and processed, turning it into a threat to the consumer’s health. Besides, the subtle energy of the milk is “cruelty” instead of “Love”.

Karuna Society maintains only rescued cattle from slaughter (several hundreds). Some of these animals give milk because they have a calf. By extra feeding we are able to receive small amounts of milk after the cow has fed her calf.

All our milk products are made from FRESH RAW MILK from healthy animals, under hygienic conditions. None of our animals go for slaughter and calves stay with the mother.

For people who still want to use some milk products, only raw milk products from a healthy animal, treated with respect, should be considered, more as medicine than as food.

Our cheese is made with enzymes and vegetable rennet, salted with Himalayan salt and covered with virgin cold pressed oil. The cheese is sold after maturing for several weeks or months. We also sell buttermilk, sour cream, cottage cheese and butter.

The above shows that our milk products are vegetarian in the real sense, meaning no slaughter and no abuse. This ensures the high subtle quality of Karuna milk products.
