Karuna Goals
The Society’s goals are :
- To relieve the suffering and improve the health and living conditions of all animals in Puttaparthi and surrounding areas.
- To stop the occurrence of death by rabies among humans and animals by performing Animal Birth Control on dogs and anti-rabies vaccination.
- To stop illegal transport of cattle for slaughter by implementing the laws regarding cattle transport and cattle preservation with the support of local authorities, police, market management, road and transport authorities.
- To improve the hygienic conditions in cattle markets.
- To improve the living conditions of farmers and villagers by educating them on organic farming, care and use of cattle (manure, bio-gas from cow dung, etc.)
- To encourage any farming or industrial activity which is eco and animal-friendly and inform the general public about the health aspects of a holistic lifestyle.
- To discourage the production of animals for meat and leather, and actively dedicate ourselves to achieving a better world for all creatures.
- To campaign against the use of animals in sports, hunting, experimentation, genetic engineering, vivisection and other such practices where animals are subjected to exploitation and suffering.
- To promote vegetarianism and organic farming for human welfare and that of Mother Earth.
- To spread awareness of the equal rights of animals and plants and that they deserve our respect and compassion
- To provide healthy food to the local community through our organic produce (vegetables, fruits, brown rice, etc), dairy products from our rescued cattle and our spirulina.
